Vijay’s Theri Villain Mahendran is now Chachan in Priyadarshan’s Maheshinte Prathikaaram Tamil version

It was a big news when the announcement came that Priyadarshan is going to remake Malayalam blockbuster movie Maheshinte Prathikaaram in Tamil. Tamil version has Udhayanidhi Stalin reprising the lead role played by Fahad Faasil in original.

Now, another interesting thing about the movie is revealed. The movie team has roped in legendary director J Mahendran to play the “Chachan” role in Tamil version. J Mahendran was last seen as an actor in Vijay’s blockbuster movie Theri, in which he played the lead Villain role.

In original Malayalam version Maheshinte Prathikaaram, the father character of the hero was called as Chachan. The character name was Vincent Bhavana and was played by K. L. Antony Kochi.

Namitha Pramod is playing the lead role in the Tamil remake. Parvathy Nair will essay the role played by Anusree in the original. The Villain role will be played by Samuthirakani.

This Priyadarshan movie will be produced by Santhosh T Kuruvilla under the banner of Moonshot Entertainment. NK Ekambaram is handling the Cinematography for this movie.

The original Malayalam version was directed by Dileesh Pothan was a blockbuster hit in Kerala. The same team later made another movie titled Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum that was released a few days back and it also emerged as a big box office hit.
