Velipadinte Pusthakam Movie Review: Mohanlal- Lal Jose combo strikes!
Finally, Lal Jose directional Velipadinte Pusthakam, which has Complete Actor Mohanlal in the lead role, graced the big screens all over India this Thursday. This family entertainer is written by Benny P Nayaramabalam and produced by Antony Perumbavoor. This is the first ever association of Lal Jose and Mohanlal for a movie. Along with Mohanlal, artists like Anoop Menon, Chemban Vinod, Sarath Kumar, Arun Kurian, Anna Rajan, Priyanka Nair etc also played crucial characters in this movie.

The plot of this flick revolves around the character named Michael Idikkula, who is a newly appointed vice principal of a college near a coastal area. There are some rifts going on between the students from the city and from the coastal area and Michael Idikkula is entrusted with the duty to fix those issues. Later he starts leading the students to some other unique things and from there the movie gets its pace.
We have to say without any doubt that, Mohanlal- Lal Jose team had made their first association a memorable one for the audience. Velipadinte Pusthakam is a fantastically made family entertainer which has everything in it to thrill the audience. It has comedy, action, suspense, great songs and emotional moments in it and we can call it a complete package of entertainment. The screenplay from Benny PI Nayaramabalam was really a great one compared to some of his recent works. They told a very different and novel story and presented it really well too.
The performance from Mohanlal as Michael Idikkula was the highlight of this movie. His effortless performance had raised the movie to another level. He had sported 3 different getups in this flick and he once again showed that when it comes to natural acting, he is the best ever. Anna Rajan did a fine job as Mary and Salim Kumar stole the show with his comedy numbers. Chemban Vinod, Anoop Menon, Sarath Kumar and Arun Kurian too did a great job and all of them had given a matured performance. Artists like Shivaji Guruvayoor, Sneha Sreekumar, Siddique, Alencier etc also had done a very good job.
DOP from Vishnu Sharma has been fantastic and his visuals become the soul of this flick. The songs were picturized superbly and the music from Shan Rahman was just awesome as well. There are 5 songs in this movie and all of them were great. Ranjan Abraham made sure with his cuts that there is no lag in the movie even though it is 2 hour 40 minutes of length.
In total, Velipadinte Pustakam is a complete family entertainer which will be a treat to everyone. You can go and watch this movie with your family and it will never disappoint you. Mohanlal- Lal Jose team had delivered an Onam Gift indeed.
