Mammootty will not have Onam release this year!
Onam is coming and Mollywood is gearing up for Onam battle at the box office. Universal Star Mohanlal, Young Super Star Prithvi Raj, Popular Actor Dileep, Kunchacko Boban etc all set to battle it out at Onam box office with movies like Oppam, Oozham, Welcome to central jail and KPAC. But it will be a disappointing Onam for the fans of Mammootty as he will not have an Onam release this year. His upcoming release will be Thoppil Joppan directed by Johny Antony and it will hit the screens on 7th of October this year. Mammootty had two releases in this July. But none of them gave him a big success.
His first release in July was Kasaba directed by Nithin Renji Panicker. It took a great opening at the box office but failed to sustain the momentum and ended up just becoming a hit in box office. Then came the movie White directed by Uday Ananthan. It had become the biggest box office disaster in Mammootty’s career and left the screens within days as well.
Mammootty is now finishing up his work for a Tamil movie named Peranbu, which is conceiving by Ram. After finishing this movie, he will join the sets of his next Malayalam project titled The Great Father. It will be directed by a debutant named Haneef Adeni and produced by August Cinemas.
