Lilli, written and directed by debutant Prashob Vijayan, graced the big screens this Friday. A bunch of newcomers is playing the lead characters in this movie, which has been bankrolled by Mukesh R Mehta, AV Anoop and CV Sarathi under the banners named E4 Experiments, E4 Entertainments, and AVA Productions. The teaser of this film had got great responses from Social Media and thus it had become one of the most anticipated movies of this season as well. Theevandi fame actress Samyuktha Menon plays the lead role in this movie along with some highly talented newcomers.
The plot of this revolves around a girl named Lilli who has been abducted by 3 people. She is pregnant as well. The film shows us her effort to survive and what happens to her in the custody of those 3 kidnappers. Samyuktha Menon plays Lilli and the other characters were played by Kannan Nayar, Dhanesh Anand, Sajin Cherukayil, Kevin Jose, Aaryan Menon etc.
We have to say that Prashobh Vijayan had made a terrific debut as a writer and director. He had given us all a unique cinematic experience that will haunt us even after we left the cinema hall. It has got a small plot, but the way he presented it speak volumes about this man’s craft as a director. People like him are the future of Mollywood and we can say it with assurance. The screenplay written by him was the backbone of this movie as it was tight, emotionally deep and thrilling as well. The characterization has been fabulous and the making style was fresh and intense.
Performance from the lead actors has been stupendous, to say the least. Samyuktha Menon has been terrific all along and as Lilli, she had given one of the finest performances by a Mollywood actress in recent times. Dhanesh Anand who played one of the negative characters was just stunning. He had given his all for this character and his body language has been superb throughout as well. He just lived on screen and behaved like a pro. Others like Kannan Nair, Sajin Cherukayil, Kevin Jose, Aaryan Menon etc played their part to perfection as well.
Sreeraj Raveendran had given some sterling and realistic visuals for this movie, which was instrumental in setting the tone of this film. Sushin Shyam’s music was brilliant as his background score had made the audience to feel every emotion. It also contributed to the flow of the movie, which was set by the wonderful editing skill of Appu Bhattathiri.
In total, Lilli is a never to miss kind of unique cinematic experience which will stay with you for a long time. You are in for something you have never seen before in Mollywood and this team of newcomers is going to rock in Mollywood for sure, for a long time.
