Movie: Ee Ma Yau
Director- Lijo Jose Pellisserry
Writer: PF Mathews
Cast: Vinayakan, Chemban Vinod, Dileesh Pothan, Pauly Valsan
Duration: 2 Hours

After a long wait, the Lijo Jose Pellisserry movie named Ee Ma Yau has been graced the screens here in Kerala today. It had become a topic of discussion ever since the teasers and posters of this film came out last year. Earlier it was planned to release on last year December first and then they postponed the date. The success of Ankamaly Diaries had made people wait eagerly for this Lijo Jose movie as well which also tells the story in a unique way.

The plot of this movie is set in a coastal village and the plot revolves around the events that happen around the death of an old man named Vavachan Mesthiri. The films show the incidents that follow at his home in a realistic manner. Vinayakan plays the character named Ayyappan and Dileesh Pothan plays the church priest. Chemabn Vinod plays Eeshi, who is the son of Vavachan.

Stunning making had made this movie a classic one. We can see a truly international film as it is so much on par with any foreign classic realistic movies. Lijo had told the story with utmost honesty and he not only made a movie with technical brilliance but also one which has life in it. This movie does not have many commercial elements ion it but it will still engage the audience until the very end. The depth and intensity of its presentation will make you feel that you are in that world too. Dialogues were so natural and it was hilarious at times as well. The screenplay from PF Mathews was tight and awesome. Lijo’s visual language has been terrific to say the least. It tells a story that is very relevant in our society as well.

The performance from all lead actors has been great. Vinayakan once again had given a stunning performance and as Ayyappan he had just lived on the screen. His body language has been amazing throughout. Chemban Vinod has been at his natural best and Dileesh Pothan too had given his career-best performance. We can say that Chemban Vinod has given one of the best ever performance by a lead actor in Mollywood. Pauly Kannamali is another one who had given a sterling performance in this movie. Artists like Kainagiri Thankaraj, Bitto Davis etc too did a fine job.

DOP from Shyju Khalid has been awesome as his frames had captured the atmosphere in the plot realistically. His frames spoke a lot and it made the audience feel just like the characters in the story. Background scoring by Prashant Pillai has been great as well.  Deep Joseph is the one who edited this flick and he did his part to perfection.

In total, Ee Ma Yau is a masterclass from Lijo Jose Pellisserry. Never miss this movie at any cost as this can be called as an international film from Mollywood. We can’t explain the feel which this movie gives us in words, you will have to experience it, sitting inside a cinema hall.
