Why Mammootty waited to act in a particular scene in Kottayam Kunjachan?
Kottayam Kunjachan is one of the most popular movies made here in Mollywood and it was directed by T S Suresh Babu. The film had mega star Mammootty and Renjini played the lead roles in it. Mammootty’s performance in the movie is still one of the best in his career and some of his dialogues from the movie are still popular here. Kottayam Kunjachan had released in the year 1990 and the film had some evergreen comedy scenes as well. Now, director T S Suresh Babu told in a recent Media interview that Mammootty was, in fact, waited to act in a particular scene in the movie.
It was a scene in which Mammootty comes to the home of Renjini after drinking too much alcohol. Mammootty was really interested to see how that scene will be conceived the by the director. Mammootty each day asks the director about when he is going to shoot that particular scene and Suresh Babu always replies that he is planning it and will tell him later. Suresh Babu says that even though it was a lengthy scene, Mammootty had done it in just one take. He loved that scene very much and that was evident in his performance as well. Suresh Babu said that it was a scene that got great applause from the viewers in Cinema Halls at that time.
