Kabali become the all-time best grosser on Day one in Kerala!
Rajinikanth starrer Kabali had broken all existing opening day box office records here in Kerala as expected. The film released here on July 22 Friday, had grossed around 4.27 crore on its first day from here and the Nett is 3.45 crores. The film had earlier set records in Ernakulam multiplexes as well by grossing above 30 lakhs on its first day and also getting 95 shows there on Day 1. The film had broken the first-day gross collection record of Ai, the film from Shankar- Vikram team which released last year. Ai had got around 3.19 crore from its opening day run here and Kabali had broken it with a big margin of 1.08 crore.
The movie had distributed here by none other than Mohanlal, the Universal Star of Malayalam Cinema. His Ashirvad Cinemas through Maxlab had distributed the movie here in 306 screen and they successfully got more than 1000 shows here as well. Both the screen count and show count of the movie are records here, as Kabali surpassed the record set by Ai. Ai had got 220 screens here and it had got around 870 shows on Day 1.
As per reports, the film had got a great second day as well even after getting a mixed response from the viewers all around.
