It was not Kalabhavan Shajon in Jeethu Joseph’s mind to play the Villain in Drishyam!

Drishyam, the Malayalam Movie which released in 2013, starred by Complete Actor Mohanlal and directed by Jeethu Joseph had become the biggest ever success in Mollywood box office and still remain at the top of the list. The movie had been remade to 4 other different Indian languages as well. It had become the turning point in many artists career who had acted in it. Artists like Kalabhavan Shajon, Asha Sharath, Neeraj Madhav, Roshen Basheer etc become popular all over Kerala through this movie and it had become a life changing films for them. Kalabhavan Shajon had played the negative role in it named Constable Sahadevan and his sterling performance in it even won him the chance to act in a Rajnikanth movie directing by Shankar. But in fact, it was a character not designed for him to play in Drishyam. Director Jeethu Joseph had another actor in his mind when he thought about this character.

It was Legendary Malayalam Actor Jagathy Sreekumar who comes to the mind of Jeethu Joseph, when he thought about this character named Sahadevan first. Jeethu Joseph had revealed it during a media interview recently. But that unfortunate accident happened in Jagathy’s life made him bedridden. Kalabhavan Shajon had done a fabulous job in the movie and he had made that character immortal.
