4 Malayalam releases had graced the screens here in Kerala in this Eid season. All of them are different in its genre from one another and the audience got the chance to choose which one they want to see in this season. Boban Samuel directorial Shajahanum Pareekkuttiyum, Deepu Karunakaran directorial Karinkunnam Sixes, Nithin Renji Panicker directorial Kasaba and Khalid Rahman directorial Anuraga Karikkin Vellam are the Malayalam releases this season. We can just analyze the box office performance of these movies in its first weekend.
1. Shajahanum Pareekuttiyum
This flick has Jayasurya and Kunchacko Boban in the lead role along with popular south Indian actress Amala Paul. It is a fun film which has some mindless comedies in it. Even though the film had received below average to average reviews, it had shown a decent performance at the box office on its first weekend. The film had grossed 3 crores+ from its first 5 days of the theatrical run here in Kerala. The movie is written by Y V Rajesh and produced by Ashiq Usman productions in association with Central Pictures.
2. Karinkunnam Sixes
This is a sports movie based on the game volleyball scripted by Arunlal Ramachandran and directed by Deepu Karunakaran. Manju Warrier and Anoop Menon played the lead characters in the movie and the flick had got good reviews from all over. The movie had earned 3 crores+ from its first 5 days and the good word of mouth expected to take it to a safe box office margin. Anil Biswas and Jayalal Menon had produced this movie.
