Drishyam bowed down before Oppam in Kerala Box Office!

What we are seeing now here is that the box office race is only between Mohanlal movies. No other actors and their movies have anything to do here when it comes to making box office records. At right intervals of time Mohanlal movies comes and breaks all existing box office records and make Malayalam Cinema to next higher level. For last 30+ years, only Mohanlal doing this in Mollywood and now his film Pulimurugan came to make Malayalam Cinema a member of the glorious 100 crore club as well. In between the celebrations of the records made by Pulimurugan, many people forgot about Mohanlal’s own movie Oppam, which was making records silently. As per the reports coming in from trade guides in the industry, Oppam had grossed more than 42.6 crores from Kerala box office and surpassed the Kerala gross of Drishyam. Drishyam had a Kerala gross of 42.5 crores from A Class theaters here in Kerala. Now, Oppam had 42.6 crores and still holding in more than 20 screens here in Kerala.

Thus Oppam had become the second highest grosser from Kerala right behind the gigantic success Pulimurugan, which had earned more than 75 crores in just 50 days from Kerala alone. Oppam grossed 42.6 crores from 78 days from here and its worldwide collection had gone above 63 crores as well.
