August Cinema bagged the distribution rights of Enthiran 2 for a whopping price
August Cinema, the popular Malayalam production banner owned by Shaji Nadeshan, Arya and Santhosh Sivan had bagged the distribution rights of India’s biggest motion picture now, in Kerala. Enthiran 2, directed by Shankar and starred by Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar is made using a budget of 400 crores. The Kerala distribution rights of this movie have been bagged by August Cinemas for a whopping 16 crore rupees.
Lyca Productions had bankrolled this project and it will grace the screens on the 27th of April this year. It will be the biggest ever release in Indian Cinema and in Kerala too it will likely to get the biggest number of screens till date.
Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar, Amy Jackson etc play the key roles in this movie and AR Rahman had composed the music. The movie is in its final stages of post-production now and the promotion had already started. The first teaser of this flick is likely to be released soon.
Baahubali 2 which released last year here had become the second biggest grosser in Kerala by collecting above 75 crores. It landed before Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan which had grossed over 90 crores from Kerala. Enthiran 2 will be looking to surpass at least Baahubali 2 here. It had to collect more than 40 crores at least here from Kerala to become a profitable venture for August Cinemas.
