1971 Beyond Borders created a new history in Mollywood: Biggest All India release ever for a Malayalam Movie!
Mohanlal once again created history in Mollywood and this time through his movie named 1971 Beyond Borders which will hit the screens all over India tomorrow. The film had got 405 screens all over India and it is the biggest ever release for a Malayalam movie in India. In Kerala, the film had got around 205 screens and in rest of India market, it had got 200 screens as well. In Kerala, it set a Non-Pulimurugan record by getting the second most number of screens on Day 1. Pulimurugan had got 214+ screens here in Kerala on Day 1. Now, 1971 Beyond Borders had pushed Mammootty’s The Great Father to the third spot, which had released here in 180+ screens.
This war drama starring Mohanlal is written and directed by Major Ravi and it is his 5th movie with Mohanlal in the lead. Mohanlal playing dual characters in this movie and sporting 3 getups as well. This movie has been produced by Haneef Mohammad under the banner of Red Rose Creations and Sujith Vasudev had cranked the camera for this flick. Now everybody looking forward to knowing whether this movie will set a new opening day record in Mollywood or not.
