Villain to have a record all India release tomorrow with more than 400 screens
Mohanlal once again showing that Mollywood is indeed a Mohanlalwood. His upcoming release named Villain scripted and directed by B Unnikrishnan, will grace the screens tomorrow and it is going to have a record all India release.
Theater list of Villain is out and it will be released in 253 screens here in Kerala alone. It is the biggest ever release for a Malayalam movie and Villain will have 1300 shows on day one. Thus Villain is now on par with Bahubali 2, which also played around 1300 shows on Day one here. The movie will have 149 screens outside Kerala and thus the total now crossed 400 screens.
20 years before, Mohanlal starred movie named Kalapani was released in 450 screens all over India. The second best Malayalam release was again a Mohanlal starred movie named Velipadinte Pusthakam which released in 400 screens all over India.
Villain got 400+ screens without releasing in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana states, where Mohanlal have a huge market. The flick is not releasing there because its Tamil and Telugu version will be releasing there in November. Villain is releasing in 40+ screens at Bangalore alone.
The advance booking for the film in Kerala had already set new history here. Even biggies like Baahubali and Pulimurugan did not get half of the advance booking got by Villain now.
