China’s HGC Entertainment bagged the rights of Vijay’s Mersal for China release
Earlier there were reports that Mammootty starrer Peranbu is aiming to become the first Tamil release in China. Now, it seems like, before Peranbu, another Tamil movie will grace the China screens to become the first Tamil release there. Reports say that Thalapathy Vijay starrer 2017 blockbuster hit Mersal will be that Tamil movie to have a China release first.
As per the reports, Thalapathy Vijay starrer Mersal’s rights already got sold to China’s HGC Entertainment. Mersal will be dubbed into Mandarin and the company is planning to release it on later this year or in early next year.
Directed by Atlee, Mersal is now one of the highest grossing Tamil movies ever. The movie featured Vijay in triple roles. Apart from Vijay, the movie also stars Nithya Menen, Kajal Agarwal, Samantha, S J Surya, Sathyaraj, Vadivelu, and others.
Meanwhile, Mammootty’s Peranbu is also expecting a China release and makers already confirmed the news. A few weeks ago, the makers revealed that they were in talks with Chinese distribution companies about the financial part. After got great reception for the movie at the Shanghai film festival, many companies approached the makers to bag the rights, reports say.
