Thoppil Joppan is the Mammootty movie directed by Johny Antony and the movie got released in last October 7th along with Mohanlal starrer Pulimurugan. While Pulimurugam had become the biggest blockbuster Mollywood had ever seen, Thoppil Joppan reportedly becomes a decent success only. There were reports came later that it had earned around 25 crores or something and even the Wikipedia page (anyone can edit it!) showed that the film had got around 50 crore rupees, which is hard to digest. Because it is not easy for a Malayalam movie to earn 50 crores and even the big blockbusters only ends up around 30-40 crore business here. Only very few films like Pulimurugan, Drishyam, Oppam, Premam, Ennu Ninte Moideen, Two Countries etc were able to cross 50 crore mark . Then how a movie like Thoppil Joppan can get 50 crores as it had terminated after playing just around 7000 shows in Kerala and it had almost ended its run here within 35-40 days of its release as well. Now, truth is coming out as medias which had done the promotions for this movie came out with its real figure.

Popular Medias which officially done the promotion of this movie came out and said that Thoppil Joppan is a commercial failure and the producer had to suffer 2 crore loss. The movie failed to collect even a decent figure from here and the media says that the producer don’t even attend calls from them and he is nowhere to be seen when they are trying to contact him for the work payment. Even some of the crew members of the movie haven’t got the remuneration for their work and they were asking why the producer is not answering their calls if the film is a good box office success according to the claims earlier through the media by the producer and director.
