Sultan becomes the third Bollywood movie to gross more than 300 crore Nett from India!
Salman Khan starrer movie Sultan, written and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar had become the 3rd Bollywood movie to gross 300 crore nett from India alone. The film had crossed the 300 crore mark nett in its 5th week and the total worldwide collection of the movie is now around 600 crores. This is now the third biggest success in Indian Cinema after Aamir Khan’s PK and Salman Khan’s Bhajrangi Bhaijan. PK had a total gross above 750 crores and Bhajrangi Bhaijan had got more than 600 crores.
Only two films from Bollywood had crossed the 300 crore figure from domestic box office and they are PK and Bhajrangi Bhaijan. Now, Salman Khan has two movies in 300 crore club from India. Anushka Shetty who played the female lead in this movie also has two films in 300 crore club. She was the female lead in PK as well. This is the first movie produced by Yash Raj Films which got 300 crores from India alone. For them too this is a special occasion. Adithya Chopra had bankrolled this project under the banner of Yash Raj Films.
Sultan was released on the Eid day this year and got a great response from all over the world. Salman Khan had played a wrestler in this movie.
