After Rajinikanth’s Kabaali, Mohanlal to distribute Dhanush starrer VIP 2 in Kerala
Dhanush is coming back as Raghuvaran, the character he portrayed in 2014 blockbuster hit Velaiilla Pattadhari. The sequel is titled as Velaiilla Pattadhari 2 (also known as VIP 2). The movie is scheduled to hit the screens on August 11. Now, another interesting update is coming about the movie.
This movie will be distributed in Kerala by none other than Superstar Mohanlal. Mohanlal’s Maxlab Cinemas and Entertainments has bought the distribution rights of VIP 2 in Kerala.
Interestingly, it was Mohanlal’s Maxlab Cinemas and Entertainments itself distributed Rajinikanth’s previous movie Kabali in Kerala. Now, Mohanlal owned the distribution rights of Rajinikanth’s son-in-law’s movie too.
Velaiilla Pattadhari 2 is directed by Dhanush’s sister-in-law Soundarya Rajinikanth. She earlier makes her directional debut in 2014 with her father Rajinikanth starrer movie Kochadiyaan. VIP 2 is her second directional venture.
VIP 2 also stars Kajol in another lead role along with Dhanush. The movie will also have Hindi and Telugu versions. Both these versions will be released on August 18 while original Tamil version will hit the screens on August 11.
Dhanush himself produced this movie under the banner of Wunderbar Films. Other stars in this movie includes Amala Paul, Ritu Varma, Saranya Ponvannan, Vivek, Hrishikesh, and Samuthirakani
