Raja 2: Mammootty – Vysakh team to bring back ‘Pokkiri Raja’! What about Prithviraj character?
In this New Year’s eve, there is a special reason for Mammootty fans to celebrate. Wondering what’s that? Mammootty is going to join with Pulimurugan director Vysakh for a movie. Of course, this movie is special as it is from ‘Pulimurugan’ director. But it is more special for Megastar fans as it will see the return of ‘Pokkiri Raja’! YES…Pokkiri Raja is back and the movie is titled as ‘Raja 2’.
Earlier, there were many reports coming in that Vysakh is directing a movie with Mammootty in the lead. Now, Vysakh himself announced the project and confirmed that it will be a movie based on the character ‘Raja’ played by Megastar Mammootty in the 2010 blockbuster movie ‘Pokkiri Raja’. Pokkiri Raja was one of the highest grossing Malayalam movies of 2010 and was a multi-star movie with Mammootty and Prithviraj playing the lead roles as brothers. It was also Vysakh’s debut movie.
Raja 2 will be produced by Tomichan Mulakupadam and will be written by Uday Krishna. Again Pulimurugan team!

Vysakh told that the movie is not a continuation of 2010 Pokkiri Raja Movie, but a continuation of the character ‘Raja’ played by Mammootty. The new movie will use only the character ‘Raja’. The story, the plot, as well as narration, will be different for this movie and will be more energetic and technically superior movie. In its entirety, a 2017 movie, added Vysakh.
Raja 2 will be high budget mass Entertainer with packed action mass scenes and the movie will also have family content as well as comedy content to target family and children. The movie will have all the things audience expect from the Megastar Mammootty.

Now, there is another question here… Can we see the little brother of Raja in this movie? Surya Narayan, the younger brother character of Raja played by Prithviraj, was the other protagonist of 2010’s Pokkiri Raja. As this Raja 2 is completely different from the earlier movie, there is less chance for Prithviraj’s character. Also, the director hasn’t given any clues that it will be a multi-star movie. Of course, the fans will expect at least a guest appearance of Prithviraj’s character. Anyway, the coming days will reveal more about the same.
