Producer pulled out from Prithviraj project and now all set to bankroll Mammootty project
After the blockbuster success of Ennu Ninte Moideen, Prithviraj- RS Vimal team had announced a gigantic project named Karnan. It said to be a 300 crore budget project and a gulf businessman named Venu Kunnappilly is the one who came forward to produce this movie. After even after two years of its announcement, there is no news till now about when they will start filming this project.
As per the latest confirmed reports, Venu Kunnappilly had withdrawn from this project and he is going to produce another bug project named Mamankam with Mammootty in the lead. Venu Kunnappilly said that at first Karnan was planned as a film which will be shot using a budget around 60 to 70 crores.
But later, the budget raised up to 300 crores. Now, he had no interest to produce such a gigantic project and that is why he landed on another project.
Mamankam will be made using around 50 crores and it is in the final stages of its pre-production. A new director named Sajeev Pillai will helm this project.
Meanwhile, RS Vimal- Prithviraj team’s Karnan will now be produced by United Forum, a union of foreign Malayalees. It will start filming once the pre-production works are over, which is going on in Hyderabad now, says RS Vimal.
