Prithviraj in 50 crore club for the third time in Mollywood?
It was Mohanlal who introduced 50 Crore as well as 100 Crore club in Mollywood and he has 4 movies in 50 Crore Club in Mollywood. Drishyam, Oppam, Pulimurugan and Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol are those movies. Among these, Pulimurugan had become the first movie to gross over 100 crores and ended up grossing more than 150 crores as well from all over. If the reports coming in are to be believed, now after Mohanlal, young star Prithviraj Sukumaran also reached the 50 crore club here for the 3rd time in his career. As per some unofficial reports, his movie named Ezra which released in this year February had entered the 50 crore club.
Prithviraj’s other movies in the 50 Crore club include Ennu Ninte Moideen and Amar Akbar Anthony. Even though Amar Akbar Anthony is a multi-starrer, Prithviraj is the only young actor who had 2 solo movies in 50 crore club. As we said above, Mohanlal leads here with 4 solo movies in the 50 crore club.
Unofficial reports say that Prithviraj’s Ezra had crossed 50 crores from its worldwide run. From Kerala alone, it had grossed over 35 crores and from rest of India and overseas market, it had grossed over 15 crores as well.
Prithviraj’s horror thriller Ezra was directed by debutant Jay K and Priya Anand played the female lead in it.
