Odiyan become the 5th movie of Mohanlal to gross more than 30 crores from Kerala
When the big budget movie Odiyan got mixed reviews and faced a lot of criticism on its first day of release, no would have ever thought that this movie is going to become one of the biggest hits in Mollywood. But that is what exactly happened and once again it proved the might of Mohanlal at the box office and it tells us why he is been considered as the biggest star ever graced the screens in Mollywood.
Now, Odiyan had surpassed the 30 crore mark in Kerala box office alone and its Kerala gross has now touched 31 crores from 24 days. It had completed 17500 shows as well in Kerala and become the 5th Mohanlal starrer to gross over 30 crores from Kerala alone. It is the most by any actor here. Drishyam, Oppam, Puli Murukan, and Kayamkulam Kochunni are the other 4 films of which had done this before.
While crossing 15000 shows from Kerala, Odiyan becomes his 6th movie to do so and that is a record here. Pulimurugan, Drishyam, Oppam, Munthiri Vallikal Thalirkkumbol, and Kayamkulam Kochunni are the other 5 films of him which had crossed 15000 shows from Kerala alone.
Meanwhile, the worldwide gross of Odiyan had touched 60 crore mark as well and become the 5th movie to do so in the history of Mollywood.
