It was Urmila, not Nayanthara, who was the first choice to play the heroine of Mammootty in Siddique Film!
Mega Star Mammootty and Siddique joined hands in the movie named Bhaskar the Rascal in 2015 and it was a box office success. Even though the film earned great criticisms and not raised up to the mark in terms of the quality we expect from a Siddique movie, it had become a box office success. Popular South Indian heroine Nayanthara had played the female lead in that movie and it had really helped the movie in its box office success as well. But a now a report came in that it was not Nayanthara who was approached by the director Siddique to play the heroine of Mammootty in this movie at first. It was an actress named Urmila, who is a Mumbai- Malayali who had predominantly acted in Kannada and Bengali movies.
Mammootty also liked her after seeing one of the scenes performed by her as directed by Siddique. Mammootty even met her and both the director and actor almost confirmed her as the female lead in this movie as well. But later, Nayanthara was roped into the project considering the possibilities of the business which can be expanded by her presence in the movie. So, they told Urmila that they are not considering her in that movie anymore and Mammootty told her that they will not forget her and will call her if an opportunity comes.
