He had performed those stunts live on stage during the 19th Asianet Film Awards which was conducted on Friday Night at Angamaly. Mohanlal came on stage as Pulimurugan and performed those stunt sequences with utmost ease. Mohanlal had won the award for best actor 2016 as well for his performance in Oppam and Pulimurugan. Best movie award went to Oppam and best actress award has been won by Manju Warrier for her performance in Vettah and Karinkunnam Sixes.
