Mammootty to play Kunjali Marakkar in Shankar Ramakrishnan directional historical movie?
If the reports coming in are to be believed, then Megastar Mammootty will play the lead in a big budget movie named Kunjali Marakkar, which will be scripted and directed by popular actor/writer Shankar Ramakrishnan.
Reports say that August Cinemas will bankroll this project and a prominent production house from Malayalam will associate them in this big production as well.
Certain unconfirmed reports suggest that the official announcement of this project may be made at the 125th-day Celebration event of The Great Father, starred by Mammootty and produced by August Cinemas. If not, there is a chance that they will officially announce it on the birthday of Mammootty, which will be in this coming September.
Anyway, fans and film lovers are eagerly waiting to know more details about this big project.
Some years back there were reports that Amal Neerad may direct a movie named Kunjali Marakkar with Mammootty in the lead. Then came a rumor that Priyadarshan has plans to make Kunjali Marakkar with Mohanlal in the lead based on the screenplay written by TK Rajeev Kumar.
Long years back, a popular director had plans to make Kunjali Marakkar with Mohanlal in the lead as well. But it was not materialized as the high budget was a real concern in Mollywood at that time.
