Villain first day collection report is out; Record-breaking opening for Mohanlal’s Villain
The official first-day collection report of Mohanlal’s Villain is out now and it’s a record-breaking opening. This B Unnikrishnan directional emotional thriller had grossed over 4.91 crores on Day 1. Villain was released in 270 screens all over Kerala and it had played around 1300 shows on Day one here.
Collecting 4.91 Crores on its opening day, Villain now emerged as Mollywood’s biggest opener at Kerala Box Office. This is the second time a Mohanlal movie is crossing 4 crore mark on its first-day at the Kerala box office. Mohanlal starrer record-breaking blockbuster movie Pulimurugan was the first movie to cross 4 crore mark on the releasing day.
Villain is now the first ever Malayalam movie to have more than 1000 shows on day one. Before Villain, another Mohanlal movie named Velipadinte Pusthakam was at the top of the list with 902 shows on day one. Apart from Villain, only 3 other language movies had played more than 1000 shows here. Rajinikanth starrer Kabali, S S Rajamouli directional Baahubali 2 and Vijay’s Mersal are those movies.
Villain is now getting superb reports from all over and the spectacular performance of Mohanlal seems to be attracting the audience in large numbers. It is holding really well in all centers, including multiplexes and single screens all over Kerala.
