Dulquer Salmaan’s Lucky Bhaskar scores Big in Telangana, Andhra, and Tamil Nadu – But What’s Holding Back Kerala? Pre-sale Numbers Revealed!

The highly anticipated pan-Indian film ‘Lucky Baskhar’, starring Dulquer Salmaan, is set for a grand global release on October 31 to coincide with Diwali. As soon as advance bookings opened two days ago, tickets began flying off the shelves in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Dubai, signaling immense excitement for the Telugu film. However, the story in Kerala – Dulquer’s home state, where he enjoys a massive fan following – paints a different picture.

In Andhra and Telangana, the response has been overwhelming, with more than a hundred premiere shows scheduled today from 6 p.m., all witnessing strong bookings. But in Kerala, despite two days of ticket sales, ‘Lucky Baskhar’ is struggling to gather momentum. The film, which initially aimed to reach over ₹1 crore in presales within the state, has thus far only secured a little over ₹20 lakh in advance sales. The lukewarm reception is raising questions about whether the language factor – the film being a Telugu production – might be a barrier for the Malayali audience.

Historically, Dulquer’s films in Kerala have seen massive ticket bookings and box office success. This slower-than-expected start for ‘Lucky Baskhar’, however, has fans and industry watchers on edge, wondering if the film will manage to hit a stride closer to its release or if it might miss out on capturing Kerala’s attention entirely. Despite the current booking scenario, there’s hope that the Diwali spirit will ignite Kerala’s response, helping it to match the film’s robust showing in other regions.

Directed and written by Venky Atluri, ‘Lucky Baskhar’ is produced by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, under the leadership of Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya, with distribution in Kerala and the Gulf helmed by Dulquer’s own Wayfarer Films. The film releases in Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi, aiming to captivate audiences across languages and regions. Meenakshi Chaudhary co-stars as Dulquer’s leading lady, adding to the star power behind this grand release.

As fans eagerly await opening day, the industry is watching closely to see if Kerala audiences rally to give ‘Lucky Baskhar’ the same warm reception it’s already receiving elsewhere.
