Lucifer becomes the third Malayalam movie to complete 60 days in UAE/GCC Market
Prithviraj’s directorial debut Lucifer starring Mohanlal already created numerous milestones at the box office. Now, Lucifer had created another record last day. It had become the third only Malayalam Movie to complete 60 days of theatrical run in Gulf Countries.
The flick is running at Oscar Cinemas in UAE and it has been running there for 60 days now. The other two movies which had done this before is also Mohanlal starrers and they are Drishyam and Pulimurugan.
Drishyam created a world record there by running for 125 days and Pulimurugan had a run of 98 days in Gulf countries. Once again it has been proved that Mohanlal is unbeatable when it comes to his overseas market. Recently, the overseas rights of his upcoming film Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham has been bought by Phars for an all-time record amount of 15 crores.
Lucifer had grossed near 40 crores from Gulf countries and it is the first Mollywood movie to gross over 50 crores from Overseas market alone. Its domestic gross is 80 crores+ as Rest of India Market contributed 10 crores+ for the first time. The Kerala gross of this movie is around 70 crores and its total business is said to be touched the magical 200 crore mark as well.
