Lucifer becomes the first Mollywood movie to cross 200 Crore mark
Mohanlal had created a new milestone in Mollywood with his latest release Lucifer which had already become the second highest worldwide grosser here. The film which had got a worldwide gross of 130 crores has now crossed 200 crores including the business it had done outside the box office.
Aashirvad Cinemas have officially announced the entry of this movie in 200 crore club and the flick had completed its 50 days run here in Kerala as well. The film directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran with Mohanlal in the lead was written by Murali Gopi and it was bankrolled by Antony Perumbavoor.
It had got 14 crores as satellite rights from Asianet and its digital streaming right was bought by Amazon Prime for a record amount of 13. 5 crores. As per reports, Lucifer had got record remake rights as well from other languages. Earlier, Mohanlal starrer Pulimurugan had done a total business around 170 crores in 2016 and Pulimurugan is still the highest worldwide grosser in Mollywood. It had grossed over 140 crores from its worldwide run.
Lucifer’s Kerala gross is around 70 crores and its overseas gross had crossed 50 crores as well. It had amassed around 11 crores from Rest Of India market and that too is a record in Mollywood.
