The intriguing teaser of the upcoming Malayalam 3D film Lovely has been released, capturing the attention of moviegoers. Directed by Dileesh Karunakaran, the film features Mathew Thomas in the lead role. What makes Lovely unique is its unusual protagonist—a housefly. The teaser hints at a whimsical storyline where a young man finds himself in conversation with a talking fly, leading to unexpected and amusing situations. The film is set to hit theaters on April 4.
A standout aspect of Lovely is its hybrid filmmaking style, blending live-action with animation. While Hollywood has long incorporated animated characters voiced by popular actors, this Malayalam film follows suit by introducing a digitally created fly as the female lead, voiced by a well-known Malayalam star. The teaser cleverly teases this mystery, leaving audiences eager to discover the voice behind the animated character. The first-look poster, which depicted a tiny human standing before a giant fly, had already gone viral, amplifying the buzz around the film.
Lovely falls into the semi-fantasy genre and is produced under the banners of Western Ghats Productions and Neni Entertainments by Sharanya C. Nair and Dr. Amar Ramachandran. The film boasts an ensemble cast, including Manoj K. Jayan, K.P.A.C. Leela, Unnimaya Prasad, Ashwathi Ramachandran, Prashanth Murali, Baburaj, and several others. The screenplay is penned by director Dileesh Karunakaran himself, marking his return after Tamaar Padaar.
