Kayamkulam Kochunni created a new first-day collection record in Mollywood
The Nivin Pauly-Mohanlal starrer big budget period movie Kayamkulam Kochunni had created a new first-day collection record here in Mollywood. The movie which released last day here had got 5.3 Crores on its first day and surpassed the first-day collection record set by Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan 2 years back. Pulimurugan had got 4.05 Crores on its first day.
When it comes to all the films released here in Kerala, irrespective of language, Kayamkulam Kochunni finished behind Baahubali 2 which had got over 5.4 Crores on day 1. The presence of Superstar Mohanlal had attracted a great crowd to the theaters and his portrayal of Ithikkara Pakki has been getting fabulous appreciation from all over. Even though he is in this film only for 20 minutes, he became the main highlight of this flick with his sterling performance.
Nivin Pauly who played the title character too did a very good job along with others like Sunny Wayne and Babu Antony. Priya Anand had played the female lead in this movie. This Rosshan Andrrews movie had created another record on day one as well. It surpassed the record set by Baahubali 2 by playing 1600+ shows here in Kerala on Day 1. Baahubali 2 had played 1370 shows on its day one here.
