Yesterday we reported that Mammootty starrer latest release named Kasaba had made the first day box office record in Mollywood by collecting around 2.48 crores and broke the record set by Dulquar Salman’s movie Kali, which had got 2.33 crores on its first day from Kerala. [Our Report: Not Kali, from now on its Kasaba..!]
Many prominent Medias in Kerala reported this as well. But when the official, actual figures are out, things are changed and now it is confirmed that Kasaba is not made any record on its first day. As per the reports coming in from the official distributor of the movie, the film had earned only around 1.9 crore on its first day from Kerala.

Play House release had distributed this movie all over Kerala and according to report from them, the film had earned around 1.72 crores from Kerala without adding the multiplex collection from Ernakulam, Thrissur and Carnival cinemas. The total collection from the multiplexes is around 20 lakhs on first day and if we added that , then the actual figure comes only around 1.92 crore.
Now, two things are clear that Kasaba did not made any first day record in Kerala box office and not made its entry to the 2 crore club on its opening day. Unfortunately, Mammootty have to wait some more time to get an entry to that club. But Kasaba is doing decent at box office even after mixed response from the audience.
