Kalki 2898 AD Creates Box Office History, Crosses 1000 Crore Mark
The Prabhas starrer, directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD, continues to set new records in Indian cinema. The film, widely acclaimed by audiences, critics, and filmmakers, has surpassed the 1000 crore mark at the global box office. The film’s makers shared this exciting news with a picture of Prabhas as Karna from the Mahabharata war.
The film has garnered immense love both in India and internationally. Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies and C. Ashwini Dutt, it was distributed in Kerala by Wayfarer Films. Kalki 2898 AD hit theaters on June 27, 2024.
The movie’s narrative spans millennia, beginning with the epic events of the Mahabharata in 3101 BC and extending to 2898 AD. This post-apocalyptic tale marks Nag Ashwin’s next directorial venture after Mahanati. Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan play pivotal roles, while Kamal Haasan adds an extra dimension to the film as the antagonist.
