After Jayasurya and Mammootty, a Dulquer movie too going to have a sequel
It seems that Mollywood is now developed a sudden liking towards sequels as the sequels of some popular movies getting released and also some big announcements have been made in last few days. As per reports, the sequel of Dulquer Salmaan starrer movie Theevram will be released in 2019.
But Dulquer will not be there in the sequel and some rumors say that it will be Prithviraj who is going to play the lead in Theevram 2. Roopesh Pithambaran who is going to direct the sequel had confirmed the project. But he did not reveal any other details including the star cast of the movie.
He had made his debut as a director 5 years before directing Theevram with Dulquar Salman in the lead. It was revenge thriller. But the film did not do well at box office and later got great appreciation after the DVD release. Roopesh Pithambaran had later directed the movie You Too Brutus and then went on to act in movies like Oru Mexican Aparatha and Anga Rajyathe Gymmanmar.
Two days back, Jayasurya movie Punyalan Private Limited got released, which was the sequel of Punyalan Agarbathees. On the same day, the announcement of Mammootty’s Big B sequel Bilal also came. There are unconfirmed reports that sequels like CID Moosa 2 and Runway 2 are in the pipeline.
