An Interesting Untold Story behind the Evergreen Mollywood Movie Punjabi House!
Punjabi House is one among the most popular comedy movies in Mollywood which still has a cult fan following here. It is regarded as one of the evergreen entertainers ever made in Mollywood. Rafi- Mecartin duo had scripted and directed the movie and Dileep played the lead in it. Mohini and Jomol played the female lead in this movie and the character which become one of the most popular ever in Mollywood through this flick is Ramanan, played by Harisree Ashokan. But recently in a Media Interview, Rafi- Mecartin duo had told an interesting story behind this movie.
Actually, when they created the characters in this movie, they thought about Jayaram to play the lead in this movie. They also decided to cast Jagathy and Innocent instead of Cochin Haneefa and Harisree Ashokan as well. Rafi – Mecartin duo also said they wanted to cast Manju Warrier and Divya Unni as female leads as well. But later when they thought more about the character of Unni, they realized that more than Jayaram, Dileep will be apt for the character. Jagathy and Innocent were going through a busy schedule at that time and because of that, they cast Cochin Haneefa and Harisree Ashokan in it. Manju Warrier was busy with Summer in Bethlehem then and the female leads were also replaced.
