IFFI 2017: Parvathy and Mahesh Narayanan dedicated their award to Rajesh Pillai and Malayali nurses
The IFFI has been concluded last day with some colorful events at Goa. This time, Mollywood too has something to cheer for, as Parvathy and the movie Take Off had brought home some honors from the International film festival. For her super performance as the character named Sameera in TakeOff, she had won the best actress award at IFFI.
Director Mahesh Narayanan won a special Jury mention for this film and the film had got a special jury award as well. It was the debut directorial venture of popular editor Mahesh Narayanan and they had made this movie as a tribute to Late Director Rajesh Pillai. Both Parvathy and Mahesh Narayanan said that they are dedicating this award to Late Rajesh Pillai and to all those Malayali nurses who work in the war zone.
Take Off has been made taking inspiration from some real-life incident that had happened in Iraq years before. Fahad Fazil, Kunchacko Boban, Asif Ali etc also played important characters in this movie, which was accepted by both the critics and common mass alike.
The best actor award at IFFI has been won by Nahuel Perez for his performance in the movie named Beats per Minute. Robin Campillo directorial movie named 120 beats per minute won the best film award. Best director award has been won by Vivian Qu, for directing the movie named Angels Wear White.
