Dhyan Sreenivasan to Play Lead as Auto-Rickshaw Driver in Binun Raj’s ‘Oru Vadakkan Therottam’
Director Binun Raj, known for his work in Nithyaharitha Nayakan, is all set to direct his next film, Oru Vadakkan Therottam. The film stars Dhyan Sreenivasan in the lead role as Nandan Narayanan, a B.Tech graduate who becomes an auto-rickshaw driver. The movie is set against a rural backdrop.
An exciting aspect of the movie is the introduction of two talented newcomers from prominent families. Tansen, son of renowned music director Berny (of the Berny-Ignatius duo), and Vasudev Krishnan, son of popular South Indian playback singer P. Unnikrishnan, are making their debut in the music industry. Tansen and his father have composed the music for a song written by lyricist Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri. Vasudev Krishnan has sung the track. The song was recorded at My Studio in Ernakulam, and the title poster was unveiled.
Besides Dhyan, the film features South Indian actors Anand and Raj Kapoor. Newcomer Dilna Ramakrishnan makes her debut as the lead actress, with Malavika Menon playing a pivotal role. The supporting cast includes a mix of experienced and fresh faces, with Sudheer Paravoor, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Vijayakumar, Salim Hasan, Dileep Menon, Kozhikode Narayanan Nair, and many others.
Produced by Open Art Creations, Oru Vadakkan Therottam is written by newcomer Sanu Ashok, who has crafted the story, screenplay, and dialogues. Pavi K Pavan handles the cinematography, while Jithin D K manages editing. Co-producers Surya S Subhash and Jobin Varghese, along with executive producers Sanoop S and Sunil Nair, are part of the production team. Art direction is by Boban, and lyrics are penned by Kaithapram and Haseena S Kanam. Singers Harishankar, Vasudev Krishnan, Nithya Maman, and Sreeja Dinesh lend their voices to the soundtrack.
With Navaneeth composing the background score and Sinoy Joseph overseeing sound design, the film brings together a talented crew. Other notable team members include production controller Essa K Esthappan, colorist C P Ramesh, makeup artist Sinu Raj, costume designer Surya Shekhar, and still photographer Shukku Puliparampil. The film is distributed by Dream Big Films, with PR handled by A S Dinesh.
