Akshay Kumar Joins Mohanlal for Barroz Hindi Trailer Launch in Mumbai, Sporting a Police Avatar
The much-anticipated Hindi trailer of Mohanlal’s directorial debut Barroz was launched at a grand event in Mumbai, creating ripples of excitement among fans and film enthusiasts alike. The event saw the legendary Mohanlal sharing the stage with Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, who turned heads by appearing in a police inspector avatar—a look he revealed was straight from the sets of his ongoing shoot.
The camaraderie between the two iconic stars was the highlight of the evening. Akshay, known for his punctuality and professionalism, was all praises for the visual spectacle of Barroz. He shared several lighthearted moments with Mohanlal on stage, even suggesting the veteran actor jump onto the platform instead of taking the steps. In his witty response, Mohanlal teased Akshay about the rare experience of sitting in the front row of a theatre.
The Hindi trailer launch was a star-studded affair attended by notable personalities, including singer Shaan, cinematographer Santosh Sivan, and producer Jayantilal Gada of Pen Studios. Speaking about the film, Mohanlal described Barroz as a heartfelt story for both children and adults, filled with adventure, magic, and wonder. “It’s a movie crafted with love and designed to be experienced on the big screen,” he said, urging audiences to embrace its magical world with an open heart.
Set for a December 25 release in its original Malayalam version, the Hindi version of Barroz will hit theatres two days later, on December 27. This ambitious 3D fantasy film has already garnered attention for being shot with stereo lenses, a rare and advanced technique in Indian cinema.
Mohanlal, reflecting on his new journey as a director, expressed his gratitude for being part of the industry for over four decades. He also highlighted the significance of Barroz in reviving the charm of 3D films in Malayalam cinema, recalling the success of My Dear Kuttichathan nearly 40 years ago.
The presence of Akshay Kumar, who has starred in several Bollywood remakes of Mohanlal’s films, added an extra layer of nostalgia and excitement to the event. With the festive release just around the corner, Barroz promises to deliver an unforgettable cinematic experience, bringing families together to celebrate the joy of storytelling.
