Pulimurugan is indeed a great comeback from director Vysakh who has been criticized a lot for the big failure of his movie named Cousins which released in 2014. Later, those criticisms followed him when he decided to make a mega big budget film like Pulimurugan and also when the shoot went on indefinitely as well. But, now he had answered his critics with an epic success as Pulimurugan is making a historical run here in Kerala and already becomes the biggest ever success Mollywood had seen in its long cinema history. Vysakh said that this is not a Vysakh film but Pulimurugan is a Mohanlal magic above all. Mohanlal is the man who made this project possible. His support, love, care, passion, dedication, commitment and ultimate brilliance are the reasons which made people celebrate this movie and he is the face and soul of this movie.

Vysakh said that he had to thank people like Gopi Sundar, who had worked hard like never before for this Film, Cinematographer Shaji, who had given his best performance till date for this film and Peter Hein who had choreographer never seen before kind of action sequences for this movie. He also said that without a producer like Tomichan Mulakupadam and a writer like Uday Krishna Pulimurugan may not be the same as well.
