A Busy August is waiting for Mollywood!
Malayalam Film industry had just finished an average July month and now waiting for a busy August. In July, we saw the Eid releases and also the releases in the last week of the month. Among the Malayalam films released in July, only Anuraga Karikkina Vellam from Asif Ali- Biju Menon team had made any impact here. Karinkunnam Sixes from Manju Warrier- Anoop Menon team also made a decent business from here. Then, other language movies like Sultan from Hindi and Kabali from Tamil had ruled Kerala box office and all other movies were made the audience disappointed.
Now everybody is looking for a very good August as some hopeful releases are coming in this month. On August 5th, movies like Vismayam starring Mohanlal, Guppy starring Tovino Thomas and Ann Maria Kalippilaanu starring Sunny Wayne will hit the screens here. Vismayam is the Malayalam version of a Telugu film named Manamantha directed by Chandrashekhar Yeleti. The Telugu and Tamil version of the film will also release on the same day. Guppy Movie is from a debutant director named John Paul George and Ann Maria Kalippilaanu is directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas.
On August 12 also, 3 films will hit the screens here. Jayasurya- Renjith Shankar team’s Pretham, Jayasurya- Sajid Yahiya team’s Idi and Biju Menon- V K Prakash team’s Marubhoomiyile Aana are the movies coming on that day. On August 19, Suraj Venjarammood’s national award winning movie Perariyathavar will hit the screens here. Apart from these, Bollywood movies like Hrithwik Roshen’s Mohan Jodaro, Akshay Kumar starrer Rustom etc also will hit the screens in August. From Kollywood, Dhanush’s Thodari may also release in August.
