Ramaleela Review: Dileep is back with a bang as Ramanunni flies high
The major release that graced the screens here in Kerala this Thursday was Ramaleela starred by none other than popular star Dileep. This movie has been directed by a debutant named Arun Gopi and scripted by popular writer/director Sachi. Ramaleela has been produced by Tomichan Mulakupadam under the banner of Mulakupadam films and he had distributed the movie here as well. Prayaga Martin is playing the female lead in this movie which is a political thriller kind of movie. This is the second release of Dileep this year and his first release in 2017 was Georgettan’s Pooram which graced the screens in April this year.
The plot of this revolves around the characters played by Dileep, Prayaga Martin and Radhika Sarathkumar. Dileep’s character name in this movie is Ramanunni and Radhika Sarathkumar plays the mother character of him and she is a comrade in it. Prayaga Martin plays the character named Helena. The plot starts moving forward when Ramanunni quits from communist party and joins the opposite party and decided to contest in a by-election. But that decision made him the enemy of many and the film shows how he got trapped in a murder case and how he resolves it.
Arun Gopi had made a fabulous debut with a terrific movie. We can say without any doubt that this debutant had made his presence felt here in Mollywood with a big bang as Ramaleela came out as one of the best commercial entertainers that released this year here in Kerala. The screenplay from Sachi has been stunning as it all the elements to entertain every section of the audience. There are enough for the fans of Dileep as well to celebrate and this is a complete family entertainer as well along with apolitical thriller. The director had done a great job as he had his grip on the proceedings right from the beginning to the very end. His brilliance can be seen in each and every frame in this movie and the way he narrated the movie speaks volumes about the caliber of this filmmaker.
Dileep’s performance as Ramanunni was the major highlight of this flick. He has been terrific in his looks and dialogue delivery. The screen presence was just stunning and he had just given it all to this character, which made Ramanunni one among the best in his career till now. His energy while portraying this character was just fabulous as well. Prayaga Martin did a fine job as Helena and her chemistry with Dileep was awesome. Both of them complimented each other very well. Radhika Sarathkumar needs applause for her great performance as well. She once again proved that why she is considered as one of the best ever actresses in Kollywood. Kalabhavan Shajon literally stole the show in this movie. Other artists like Siddique, Sreenivasan, Hareesh Peradi, Renji Panicker, Mukesh, Vijayaraghavan, Salim Kumar, Lena etc also done their part very well and got the applause from the audience.
The camera was cranked by Shaji Kumar and his visuals provided the mass effect which was needed to tell the story. Music was tuned by Gopi Sundar and once again his background scoring elevated the mass effect of the movie to another height. Vivek Harshan did a fine job as an editor and that had made the movie a technically perfect one as well.
In total, Ramaleela is one of the best-ever films in the career of Dileep and it is a fabulous entertainer which will worth each and every penny you spend to watch it.
