Tiyaan Review: A Unique Cinematic Experience on the cards for you!

The most awaited movie of this season, Tiyaan starred by Prithviraj Sukumaran, Indrajith, and Murali Gopi had graced the screens today here in Kerala. It was scripted by Murali Gopi and directed by Jiyen Krishnakumar. Haneef Mohammad bankrolled this flick under the banner of Red Rose Creations and it is one among the biggest budget movies ever made in Mollywood as well. The teaser and trailer of this film have been fantastic and that had become instrumental in raising the anticipation level to sky level. The promotion has been fabulous as well which made the movie the most hyped movie here in Mollywood, in recent times.

Teaser:

The plot of this flick revolves around 3 main characters played by Prithviraj, Indrajith and Murali Gopi. Indrajith plays a Brahmin Sanskrit Veda tutor who lives in a north Indian village named Ghagravadi. There comes a Demi- God kind of figure named Ramakant Mahashay aka Mahashay Bhagavan played by Murali Gopi, who is been followed by all the top guns in Politics, Law, and order etc. He is a cruel person who had many dirty intentions as well. He comes in that village to build an Ashram of his there and for that, he wants to clear the people who live in a certain area in that Village. When he affects the life of Pattabhiraman, he opposes Mahashay Bhagavan and to help him out in this fight against the evil, there comes Aslan Muhammad, a Fakir or a miracle man played by Prithviraj.

We have to say that Jiyen Krishna Kumar had come up with the best work of his career till now as a director. Murali Gopi’s screenplay was stunning as well. They had blended the north Indian politics, the dirty plays that are going on there using caste, religion etc and also the preaching of the great souls who said to be blessed our land centuries back with their words and deeds. But they presented these things in a complex manner and we don’t know how it will be digested or understood by the common audience. There are goosebumps dialogues, mass action sequences and terrific music in this movie and we can say that it is one of the best ever technically perfect movie made here in Mollywood.

The performance from Prithviraj, Indrajith, and Murali Gopi has been terrific. These three complimented each other very well and played their characters with all its intensity and conviction. Indrajith has been the one who had more screen space that the other two and he had done a terrific job, to say the least. Prithviraj looked strong, calm and composed as Aslan Muhammad. Ramakant Mahashay is one of the best ever characters played by Murali Gopi as well. Others like Suraj Venjarammoodu, Parx Lakshmi, Rahul Madhav, Shine Tom Chacko, Padmapriya, John Kokkan, Ananya, Nakshathra Indrajith, Mridula Sathe, Amit Tiwari, Ravi Singh, Sudipto Balav, Bhavika, Prakash Bare, Manassa etc also played their part very well.

The DOP from Satheesh Kuruppu has been stunning and his visuals lifted the movie to a whole new level. At many places, his visuals spoke more than the dialogues in this movie. Gopi Sundar’s music has been great as well. The background scoring created the desired mass effect. Editing by Manoj has been good but it should have been crisp. The 2 hour 48 minutes length made it a slow paced one, especially, in the second half.

In total, Tiyaan is never seen before kind of cinematic experience in Mollywood and it is worth a watch for its technical perfection alone. If you want to feel something different, fresh and unique then go for it. But the burden of expectation may block you from enjoying it. So keep that away and watch the movie.
