2.0 Review: Shankar Magic had done the trick once again
Enthiran 2 aka 2.0, the biggest motion picture ever made in Indian Cinema had reached the screens all over the world today. In Kerala too it got the biggest release so far and it was distributed here by Tomichan Mulakupadam under his banner named Mulakupadam films. Shankar had directed this 3D movie with Superstar Rajinikanth and Bollywood Superstar Akshay Kumar in the lead. Shankar and Jayamohan had written the screenplay for this movie and it has been shot using IMAX technology. Amy Jackson played the female lead in it and it has been bankrolled by Lyca Productions using a budget well over 550 crores.
The plot of this flick revolves around Vaseegaran, the scientist and his robot named Chitti. He had to reintroduce the updated version of Chitti when a 5th force comes to destroy the world.
We have to say that Shankar had become successful in making a fabulous science- fiction fantasy thriller which can match up to any high-quality Hollywood flick. Even though the story does not have much depth in it, when we look into the quality of the entertainment it gives, we can say that Shankar had done a fabulous job. The screenplay by him and Jayamohan have everything in it make a grand science- fiction thriller. Their effort can be seen in the way the introduced the characters and the plot situations. Making side has been fantastic. Shankar, the master craftsman had given his all for this movie and his magic can be visible in each and every frame of this flick. They way created the stunt sequences and also the use of 3D technology needs tremendous appreciation. He had complete grip over the proceeding till the very last moment and it had given a compact feel.
Performance from Rajinikanth has been great as usual and he had played Vaseegaran and Chitti in his usual stylish manner. But the one who had stolen the show was Akshay Kumar as he just stunned everybody with his unbelievably great performance as the villain. His looks, body language, and dialogues were just terrific to say the very least. Amy Jackson looked pretty and did her part well. Others like Sudhanshu Pandey, Adhil Hussain, Kalabhavan Shajon, Riyaz Khan etc too done well.
The technical side was top notch. Even though the songs by AR Rahman was not up to the mark, his background scoring has been superb. It had elevated the overall effect of the movie. Editing by Antony has been crisp and the visuals by Nirav Sha has been the soul of this film. It was amazing to watch each and every frame he had given us. Sound Design by Rasool Pookkutty has been fabulous and along with that, the 3D effect was just spectacular.
In total, 2.0 was a fantastic cinematic experience which can be called India’s answer to Hollywood, in terms of its quality of making. Don’t dare to miss this flick from theaters as it will give you some unforgettable moments for sure.
